Which is the more important goal for church music as an expression of worship?:

1) Absolute control and clarity of the sound being produced from the platform?

Or,

2) Inviting the congregation to engage - to connect through sacred songs with each other and with God?

In this instructional video #20 from the More Than Music Mentor training series, Grant Norsworthy and David Lim continue the conversation from video #19 that was posted to the site on Monday, Dec. 19, comparing open speaker monitor systems with in-ear monitor systems.

Grant points out that in-ear monitors - especially when used badly - can be a hindrance to our main goal of connection. And open speaker monitors - when used well - can be a huge assistance to engaging the congregation to sing as an expression of worship.
