With the aim of creating a modern sanctuary equipped to handle theatrical dramas, special events and contemporary worship services, Minnesota-based Rockpoint Church enlisted the design and integration services of local Crestron dealer, Audio Video Electronics (AVE) to collaborate with local architectural firm, BWBR Architects, during preconstruction planning.

Rockpoint Church, nestled in the Twin Cities suburb of Lake Elmo, provides worship services to about 700 congregants each Sunday in addition to a wide variety of ministry activities during the week. To meet the needs of its congregants, the church recently began construction of a new 7,200-square-foot main sanctuary as well as large gathering and recreation spaces for pre-school, youth, teen and adult fellowship and a full-size gymnasium and catering kitchen. To meet the challenge of outfitting the 60,500-square-foot campus, the integration team designed a Crestron control system to manage video, sound and lighting systems throughout the space.

Music Distribution
To accommodate four separate gathering spaces ranging in size from 2,300 to 4,800 square feet, the team integrated Crestron’s Adagio AAS-4 Audio Server to distribute worship music to each of the four campus zones. Providing 250GM of digital audio storage, the Adagio enables teens in “the Warehouse” space to listen to their selection of music, while adults in the upstairs and lower cafés and kids in the Children’s Ministry area can make their own selections. All four zones can also be controlled from the Crestron STX-1700c SmarTouch 5.7-inch wireless touch panel that resides in the main sanctuary control booth.
